Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Daniel Marcus, doing business as Reciprocal Interactive ("Reciprocal Interactive," "we," "us," or "our"), handles personal information in connection with the FriendsConnect plugin and related licensing and verification services.
1. Information we collect
From you, the site owner / customer:
- Account & license details — your name, email address, the license key issued to you, your plan, and subscription status.
- Payment information — if you purchase Pro, payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details, but we do not collect or store your full card number.
- Nonprofit verification — if you request free Nonprofit access, the organization details and Employer Identification Number (EIN) you submit are sent to our verification partner, Goodstack, to confirm 501(c)(3) status.
- Support communications — information you provide when you contact us for help.
From the plugin: The plugin operates locally on your site. At present it does not transmit your member data or message contents to us. When license validation or nonprofit verification is performed, the plugin or our services may transmit your license key and website address (URL) to confirm your entitlement. We will update this policy if the plugin's data practices change.
2. Third parties (subprocessors)
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Twilio | SMS delivery (under your account) | Your members' phone numbers & messages — handled under your Twilio account, not ours |
| Freemius / payment processor | Subscriptions & billing | Your billing details, email, license |
| Goodstack | Nonprofit (501(c)(3)) verification | Your organization details & EIN |
| Web host | Hosting our website & license services | Standard server logs |
Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
3. How we use information
- To issue and validate your license and provide the features of your plan;
- To verify nonprofit eligibility and grant free access;
- To process payments and manage subscriptions;
- To provide support and communicate with you about the product;
- To secure our services and comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above to operate FriendsConnect, and as required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data retention
We retain account, license, and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes (such as tax and accounting). You may request deletion as described below.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing, under laws such as the CCPA and GDPR. To exercise these rights, email info@reciprocalinteractive.com. Note that requests about your members' data should be directed to you, since that data resides on your own site and you control it.
7. Children's privacy
FriendsConnect is a tool for organizations and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will revise the "Effective date" above.
